Our Story
The original owner, Carlo Nicolazza, originally from Naples, opened Bella Italia in 2001. Chef Carlo spent most of his life in the restaurant industry, including many years on the Italian coast.
The kitchen is known for Frutti di Mare, which features jumbo shrimp and plump scallops in a creamy Alfredo sauce. Other specialties include Chicken Bella Italia, Veal Saltimbocca, pizzas and delectable hand-made cannoli.
In February 2023 Bella Italia came under new ownership, with the hope of making it the most authentic pizzeria and Italian restaurant in Raleigh, NC.
